Left side downshift paddle fell off

Hey all,

I Have a 2018 SR3 RSX with the top quarter of the steering wheel open. I took the car out last week and when removing the steering wheel to get out after a session, the left-hand down shift paddle fell off. A small 2 inch silver pin, the paddle, a white plastic cylinder with a spring in it is what fell out. It’s pretty obvious how it goes back together, but it looks and feels like the pushpin is slightly oversized for the holes and I can’t get it to start into the hole. There are no slots on either side of the steel pin that would allow for a C clip to be attached. I’m not sure how it goes back together and I’m looking for advice on how to fix it. Thanks.
