SR3 On the dyno
Had the SR3 on the dyno today to do a "before" build baseline. Engine has 120 hours on it. I have put 70 on in the last 2 years that I have owned it and I have never heard the exhaust note before today. Ya, lots of noise in the car, but not the true exhaust note. Sounds pretty darn good! The stock MBE tune is pretty sad. AFR was fine (12.4-12.6) under WOT but pig rich under all part throtte conditions- 8.5-11.0 under light/moderate throttle lol. This is on an eddy current dyno, so always load.
Don't want to get into a Dyno debate, but the tuner we were at we use often. Car put down 175HP at the wheels with 106 LB/FT torque. Based on THEIR dyno, pretty close to 200 at the crank, which I think they make new. Engine burns ZERO oil, and runs strong. Don't think I want to push the hours for another season (35-40 hours) as I have new pistons and Carrilo rods already in stock. But the lure of a 1500 seems strong and far more capable ECU (we stock the ECU Master products).... The car already puts very good laps down at our tracks, but could use another 15-20 HP/Tq...... 🙂
