Good afternoon everyone,

I've filed a formal request with SCCA to class the SR8 in next year's unified Prototype class. While we don't have the pace to trouble the front-running cars -- something I went through a bit of effort to demonstrate via archived race results -- we can have a lot of fun at regional and divisional levels.

If you have an SR8 that you would even CONSIDER running with SCCA, now that the SR10 is de facto mandatory in Radical Cup -- please go here:

and write a comment in support of #36883, my request, which states, among other things,

"While the SR8 is not likely a contender for a Runoffs podium, it has the potential to dramatically increase field sizes across the country. More than 270 of them were built. Two-thirds of them are no longer eligible for Radical Cup due to age. All of them have been supplanted by the newer and faster SR10. Cost of acquisition is as low as $50,000. Parts and service are available at a dozen dealerships in North America.

To sum up: Adding the Radical SR8 to Prototype 1, or a future combined Prototype class, cannot negatively affect the existing competitive order -- but it has the potential to increase class participation across the country, particularly at the regional level where it is rare to see P1 cars en masse. "

If you're a dealer who would be interested in supporting SR8s at the club racing level, please consider filing a note as well.

Thank you
