Just put an engine back in the car after a pre-X bearing failure. Cleaned out the gearbox and fixed some of the slave/clutch issues to prevent future issues. I didn't touch the top end at all or any of the sensors. Now the car refuses to idle. I can get it to idle for a 20-30s if I open the throttle and tps to ~9% but it eventually sputters out. I have a spare cam angle sensor I'm going to test tomorrow. Fuel pressure is reading good, plugs are brand new, added 5gal of fresh gas.

Any obvious things to check?

Thanks

I had a similar experiece on my recent engine swap.  The number two ignition lead did not snap in place no matter how hard I pressed into the spark plug terminal.  I replaced the ignition lead set and the engine then ran perfectly.

Check all coil wires both ends with a light.  Sometimes the connector splits or breaks in half.

I followed your thread @davidf and tried your solution because I had the exact same symptoms. That lead me to the solution, though it wasn't the same as yours. Turns out the shop that installed the engine had the plug wires on the wrong coils. Now it runs like a champ. The only issue is the car won't idle without the tps reading 6.3%. I ordered a new tps from jenvey and a TB syncing tool

It's nice when it all comes together.

Somewhere I described tps setting procedure.  There is a final step after setting it to 4% with the engine not running.  When you start the engine after tps reset, the throttle position will often rise to around 5%.  Move the tps back to 4.0 to 4.1% with the engine running.  Josh Tidd, Radical technician showed me this step and he said that the tps value at idle should be 4% -- I don't know why, but it runs well.
