Doing some maintenance and see this part that is not connected to anything. I believe it is an unused component of the manual shift linkage; I have paddle shifters so do not have the manual linkage. I am tempted to remove the yellow metal part as i don't think it is doing anything as it is presently installed. Any thoughts on leaving it vs. removing it?

Hi Bryan (@brewerbry), you are correct. This is part of the manual shifter linkage and it is not needed on paddle shifted cars. Many times people use tie wraps to hold it in place so it doesn’t rattle, but you can remove it if you prefer.

I have had to replace mine once (Thanks Charley) since owning my manual car so if you remove it and are willing to part with it let me know. 🙂
