Would like to try connecting to the MBE 992B ECU in my SR4.

Does anyone in the US have MBE’s USB to CAN adapter that they would like to see or lend?

Thanks!

John

This is likely a part / tool that is best purchased from your local Radical dealer.

Thanks Charley.  I called Wisko and they don't have any cars running MBE ECUs so they've never had that cable.  They suggested calling Radical West and I'll do that later today.

Yes, I was going to suggest Spring Mountain also.  It is amazing how many parts they have in stock.  I was talking to them yesterday and they were telling me that they still have quite a bit of stock for the older cars.

Just a bit of advice, the adaptor that you list above that goes from Supaseal to OBD is not one that will fit a Radical on MBE.

If its not on your car then you will need a Sure Seal to OBD adaptor - I am sure the likes of Spring Mountain will know this.

If you look near the ECU you should find the Sure Seal or the OBD adaptor.

Well, no joy for me today!  Spring Mountain doesn't have any of these cables.  They actually haven't seen an SR4 before, LOL.

Dan, yes, you are right -- the Sure Seal connector is what I need -- I actually have a new, wired 4 pint Sure Seal connector in hand to use to connect to their adapter when I get it.

I'm probably going to get some serial cable parts together this weekend (we do some electronics stuff at work) to see if I can go the serial route awhile.  It looks like I have both connectors coming out of the loom near the ECU.

Wouldn't this be the same connector that is used on the SR3's with MBE ECUs?
