Short Fuel Cell
That looks great! The new material looks very interesting. I have not seen that material yet. I replace the cell in my SR3 earlier this year and had it done by Harmon Racing in California. The thing I liked about the Harmon Cells is that the are warranted for 7 years (2 years longer than any other cell I found).

I had spoken with the Harmon folks and they said they were working on a standard tank for the SR3. I decided to go with Fuel Safe to try the new material. Still need to talk to Fuel Safe about the care and feeding of this cell, questions like,
During long periods of "no use" what level of fuel should be in the tank?
Can I run pump gas even though it can contain ethanol? Our ethanol fuels are like 85 octane so my Hayabusa would not be happy.
Can I use Stabil?
Yes, I took my car over to Harmon so they could verify the measurements before they made my custom fuel cell. After I got the cell installed and everything worked well (validated the design). I let the people that I know in the shop at Spring Mountain know about it, and they are now working with Harmon to supply cells to them. I am sure that the newer cells will be even better than the one they built for me because they learn from every cell they build.
I mostly went with Harmon because they are only a half hour from me and I could physically take my car there for them to verify the dimensions. Due to the complexity of the SR3 cell I didn't want to trust my measurements alone. 😉 When I spoke with Fuel Safe they showed me the design they currently had for the SR3, but it was for the smaller 54 L tank and my car was set up for the 77L tank. I wasn't aware of the new Fuel Safe material at the time. It looks very interesting. It am looking forward to hearing what you learn about it. It is good to know there are a few domestic fuel cell solutions that are cost effective solutions.
Here is a good video I found about Fuel Safe Fuel cells. They make a quality product.

Neil, how is the new fuel cell working out? Any updates? Did you have to send them the hardware or did it come with it? Also roughly how much was it? And how long did it take for them to make it? I am sure my new Prosport will need a new cell so I need to decide between Fuel safe and Harmon.
Thanks,
Charley
The cell is installed and working well. I did send them all the hardware from the old cell for reuse. That saves money. My cell does not have the internal baffle box for the pickup and cost $1200. I believe there was a two week lead time.
Neil, do you have a picture of this tank in your car (before the cover was put on)? The drawing you sent me says the tank is ~24” wide. The tank in the Prosport I am working on is ~’40’ wide. What supports your tank on the sides?
