Is it just me?

While driving through the pits heading to pre-grid, I find the GDU real "clunky" while I feather the throttle, driving real slow in first. . Back home, I looked for a potential reason and all I can figure out is that it's the accumulated backlash for each of the several gears in the GDU which end up allowing me to rock the car back and forth about 2 inches before the wheels engage the gearbox output shaft.

It's always been there since I bought the car and I wonder if anyone is experiencing the same jerkiness at the very low speeds required in the pits.

Is that pretty normal?

is this what you experience, in the video? It's always been like this for me, as i set off it'll be in this jerky way and then it's like something clicks into place and it's fine. Feathering the throttle seems to prolong it, it's strange, I have to give it a bit more then a bit less. If this is the issue you're describing then i'd also be keen to know if it's normal or a problem!
I need my GDU refreshing anyway....

Thanks for chiming in!

Yes, that's pretty much what I get. The only way to break the cycle is to either step on it (loud pedal, that is) which does not get you brownie points in the pits, or clutch in.

There's no backlash adjustment that I can see anywhere in the GDU and I cannot imagine any high level of wear inside since it was redone by Radical Canada East less than 40 hours ago, and fluids are clear.

Here's a short video of what I am experiencing:
