@msracing, Hi Manny, I’m interested in converting my K7 1500 from carbs
to fuel injection. Do you happen to have any of the other parts like the ecu/engine harness, fuel pump, fuel lines?
Hey Yes i believe i have the harness that cam out of my car 1500cc k7 , i should have the sensors, ecu, coil back , fuel pressure reg.. fuel line.. i believe i should have most if not all to covert to fuel injection.
Manny
@msracing, Sounds great, if you could please check to see all that you have and put together a package price. I have a coil pack already on the car, not sure if I can re-use it. My car also has a open loop early version of the geartronics pneumatic shifter so not sure if the new fuel injection ecu needs to be sent in to allow for a ignition cut wire. Feel free to text me: Chris 408-717-3319. Thanks Manny!
Hi Manny,
If you don't sort anything with Crit I would be interested in both coil packs and leads plus the throttle bodies if you can sort a bit of a deal. Either with postage to the uk or I could arrange for DHL to collect.
@crit your current coil and leads will be fine to use. I believe the ECU will do the cut for Geartronics just not sure if it will be set/programmed as standard.
@rlm-dan, thanks for info! The geartronics software also allows me to adjust the cut time. Also happen to know if I can re-use my aluminum fuel tank and drop in the high pressure pump and new fuel lines or is there a specific fuel injection aluminum tank?
@crit If i am honest I didn't know that Radical did cars on carbs with in tank fuel pumps, I thought they ran external Facet pumps.
If it is an in tank pump I would imagine that the tanks are different but I do not know that for sure.
If you have an external pump then this could be replaced with an aftermarket injection pump (Bosch 044 for example) but you would need to weld a fuel return fitting onto the tank.
@crit, To build on Dan’s comment. There are several tank designs. Since your car is apart take a look in the left side pod and see if there are two external fuel pumps. Here is a good picture from Markus’ car that shows the twin pump design. If there isn’t a pump (or pumps) in the left side pod it would be worth taking off the tank skin and getting a look at the tank. Then we can come up with a good plan. Any tank can be made to work but there are different approaches and limitations.
Charley
Took the skin off, no external pumps, there may be two pumps inside the tank, seems to pump from both lines which is strange as there is only one fuel filter on one of the lines.
Hi @Crit, I took the cover off of my current SR3 which is a fuel injected 2010 and the fuel tank is identical to yours. So you should have no problem upgrading the pump when you add fuel injection to your car. Here are some pictures of my tank.

@charleyhradicalsportscarregistry-com, thanks for the pics Charley, I’ll call SM, primal and RNW and see if anyone happens to have a used pump or wouldn’t mind shooting me a pic of a new pump. I’m wondering if Radical uses the entire VDO fuel pump or combines the VDO top with a different or custom design down below to accommodate for the increased lateral Gs or tank shape.
When I google the part number on the top of your tank I get the sending unit/cover which makes me think Radical might have only used the top and did something different down below.
