Most Radicals have very straight forward Chassis numbering methodologies.  They usually have the model number followed by 5 digits which show the build order.  For example the 22nd SR3 made was chassis number SR300022, and the 1105th SR3 was chassis number SR301105.  But when you look at the Chassis number plate for the Radicals built for road use (with a factory Certificate of compliance), like RXC's (not including the Spyders) and SR3 SL's (not including the SS, TS, and RS with Single Vehicle Approval),  you will see that the chassis numbering is very different.  You will see that the chassis number includes 17 alphanumeric digits that and follow the VIN Numbering methodology for any road legal car.  There is some very good information buried in this number, if you know how to read it.  Of particular interest is: Model, Engine type, Build year, and Production Sequence number.

Here is how to decode the build year.  The letter in the 10th position has the following code indicating the Build year: A = 2010, B =2011, C=2012, D=2013, E=2014, F=2015, G=2016, H=2017, J=2018, K=2019. (Note: I is not use in VIN numbers)

Here is how to decode the Engine.  The letter in the 7th and 8th position use the following code to indicate the engine used: L2=Ford/RPE 2L Turbocharged engine used in the SR3SL.  It has 300hp.   LC=Ford/RPE 3.7L V6 used in the RXC.  It came it 380 hp and 440hp versions,  LE=Ford/RPE  3.5L Ecoboost twin turbo.  This engine came with 600 hp when configured for the RXC Turbo 500R and 650hp when configured for use in the RXC Turbo 600R.

Here is an example of a chassis number plate used in and RXC.

Interesting this....

My SL was the first one they made (Daisy) with following plate...

Chassis

As you can see, it simply has SR3SL....loads of zeros....then 2

They must have invented the complicated system afterwards!

Thank you for posting your chassis number plate Gareth (@gareth747474).  Your chassis number is consistent with the cars that were sold by radical to be street legal using the Single Vehicle Approval  (SVA) process.  Here is an example of an SR3 with SVA.

547

The longer VIN's that I originally posted above were for cars that had the European Community Small Series Type Approval (EC SSTA).  I suspect that because your car was the Prototype that it was built for SVA and perhaps was used to get EC SSTA for the series.

You defiantly have a very unique and interesting car!

I presume no.1 was used for crash testing etc.?
If you google the car when it was first made and unleashed on the public....you will find that those naughty chaps at Radical had actually swapped the number plates to another car.  Mine is AE60 BFA and although is now black, used to be white with various stripes all over it. The big give away is the rear wing.  Mine has the normal race version, whereas the SL has the tri thing on it.

i will dig out a pic and post
