[Prosport] Check your alternator fuse!

Especially if you have fans or any other significant electrical loads.

The Kawasaki alternator will make 28A (more if you use the ZZ-R1200 alt), but these fuse housings aren't good for anything close to that. This is the result of adding ~10A worth of fan load to the system.

Same thing happened to me on my older SR3... It really needs a higher spec fuse holder...

Common thing with these, normally caused as it is resistance in the loom from a high amp draw. Normally due to a flatish battery and it going mad to charge it.

Upgraded charging looms are now available.

When you say "upgraded charging looms", are we just talking from the 2-pin Kawasaki connector to the switch / relay, or does the loom now include the wiring into the alternator?

I ask because that 2-pin connector is a major weak point itself; it's not sealed, retained or strain-relieved, and I was seriously considering swapping it for something more appropriate.
