Hi @archie, Welcome to the Radical community!  Don’t hesitate to ask questions, we are all happy to help.  Is your son’s car in the Registry yet?  What chassis number is it and where are you located?  I am looking forward to hearing about your progress with the car!

Hi Charley,

Thanks for responding. He has spoken with someone recently and is on the forum as hende. His chassis number is 56.  Unfortunately we live 189 miles apart, he's in Hampshire and I live just south of Newark.  He had a great day out at Castle Coombe last week and decided to do some preventative maintenance over the weekend. Only to find a broken plug and having removed and replaced them all finds it's not firing on 2 and 3.  So with my limited knowledge of his car although I do understand the Ignition and carb set up we have been trying to resolve the misfire.  My thinking now after working though the potential problems is either the plug leads are shorting out at the Dyna coils or the coils are old and perhaps have a hairline crack causing the short and the spark is going to earth.

I believe he will be on the phone tomorrow to order necessary parts and hopefully glean some useful hints.

Thanks

Archie

I have been following his posts!  It looks like a great car!  Was it misfiring before the preventive maintenance?  If you can't figure it out it would be worth contacting the guys at RLM because they have worked on everything.

No, it was running perfectly.  We believe the plug leads to be the issue. Will find out when new items are installed.

@archie, yes, that seems to be a likely culprit.
