Hi, I'm looking at purchasing a SR3 RS, can anyone advise me of the recommended interval for refreshing/service/ rebuild of the GDU.

Hi Frank.... Plenty of good 'resources' here on the Forum. Take a look around for topics of interest using the 'search' function.
Here is a thread regarding your question that I'm familiar with and there are plenty of others...
Most of the time any questions you have will already have been asked/answered in great detail. It pays to check through these first.
