What is the setup for data, video, and GPS capture on older SR3's? I have a 2012 RS that the previous owner setup with a Solo 2 DL plus Smartycam (and the MXL Strada dash). I am not sure why the Solo was added.
If I just want to record video, include track location info via GPS and be able to see brake and throttle info on the video for coaching analysis, can I just send throttle and brake trace from the MXL to the Smartycam, add the GPS receiver to the Smartycam, and have visibility to the data I want to see on the memory card in the cam?
How do others have their data and video capture setup and connected?
I suspect the Solo is unnecessary as long as I have a GPS receiver but not sure.
The AIM supporting documentation leaves a bit to be desired from a setup / connectivity / guidance standpoint!
