Hi

I've just bought a 2015 Radical SR1 with an AIM MXL Dash and Smartycam.
I tried connecting to it with windows 10 and race studio 2 but it doesn't recognise the device.
Does anyone know if this should work or if it has to be a windows 7 setup?
Does anyone know if drivers are available for windows 10?

Appreciate any help.

Cheers

Simon

Hi there, congrats on your new purchase.

I don't know if Windows 10 has to be used, but mine works with Windows 7 and RS2.

Congratulations on the new car!  Yes, you can use RS2 with Windows 10.  What cable are you using to connect to your dash?  It is important to make sure you are using the correct cable.  There are two different cables that can be used to connect to the Aim system and their is a similar cable that is used to connect to the Life ECU (which is separate from the Aim system).  The two cables that can be  used to connect to the Aim dash (the two cables on the left side of the picture) have a USB connection to the computer on one end, and one has a pin connector on the other end that plugs into the Aim dash, and the other type has a round plug.  The cord that is used to connect to the Aim ECU has a round connector on one end and an Ethernet connection (looks like a large phone plug) on the other end.

Sorry to be reviving this old post.

First track day with the SR3 yesterday at Road Atlanta and I still can't wipe that grin off my face.

Back home I was hoping to connect to the Smartycam to change a few features on the video, downloaded Smartycam Manager, but when I try to connect on either of my Win10 or Win11 computers I get the "cannot connect to Smartycam" .

I have tried several cables, restarting the Smartycam, the computers, updating the USB drivers, nothing gives.

Has anyone other than sclemow in the first post experienced this and found a fix?

Although USB 3.0 is supposed to be back compatible, I read online that people have had issues connecting USB 2.0 devices on newer computers and got around by using a USB 2.0 hub between the SC and the newer computer.

Any USB gurus out there?

Thanks

Chris

On Matt's recommendation, I called Sabian at AIM and he had a simple answer:" looks like you may be using the wrong software, try RaceStudio3" which I did and all issues disappeared.
