Hi, I recently purchased a 2010 SR3 so I'm new to the forum.  Info on this site has been super helpful!  I've searched but haven't found an answer to my issue.  The car has a Smartycam HD and it had some moisture in the lenses so I took the lens assembly apart to remove the moisture.  I didn't realize there were 6 different elements that make up the assembly and of course they all came out and now I don't have any idea what order the lenses and spacers go back into the camera.  I reached out to AiM US but never got a response.  Does anyone have this information they could share with me?  My son and I are going to Road Atlanta for a track weekend on 11/23 so hoping to get this figured out.  Thanks!

Hi Jonathan @jmooshaker, welcome to the Registry! Reach out to Matt (@trailbrake) at trailbrake.com.  He sells AIM gear and is extremely knowledgeable about them.  He is a great guy to work with.

It sounds like you have it further apart than a user would normally take it apart. If you took out the main lens, it will need to be focused as well. The other issue is why there was moisture in there - the cameras are sealed housings and shouldn't get any moisture in them. Shoot me a picture of what you have going on and we'll get things fixed up for you. matt@trailbrake.com

Charley, thanks so much for the reference!

Hi Matt @trailbrake, thanks for your response.  When I purchased the car, I transported it on an open trailer (won't be doing that again) and it rained during the trip.  Turns out the camera didn't have the gasket for the SD card door, so water got into the camera and then into the lens assembly.  I dried the camera out and it seems to be working correctly.  I took the main lens out and I have reinstalled them but, as I mentioned when I took them out the order of the elements got mixed up.  So, I'm hoping that once I get the lenses back into the camera in the right order it will be good to go.  Is there a schematic that shows the order of the elements in the main lens?  I will also need a gasket for the SD card door.  Is that something I can purchase from you?  I can attach a picture of the lens assembly this evening if that will help.  Thanks for the help!

The gasket will have to come from AiM. You're best best bet is probably to send the camera into AiM and let them check it out. They can hopefully get the lenses back in correctly and replace the gasket. The focusing on some of the lens elements takes a setup that is only in Italy, but they will do their best to help you out here. Give them a call and see what they can do. If you want to send it in, you can do so with your info attached and a description of what is wrong. They will check it out and call you. If you walk to them first and explain your date, they will be able to give you a better idea of the schedule. Contact info for them is below.
