OK, I'll probably get laughed at for asking this...

I have an '04 SR4 that's new to me.  The safety items have been freshened up and I am getting it on track a bit now.

Couple more things need attention -- voltage regulator, rotors and one of the brake master cylinders.

I understand from the shop that did the prep for me that getting help/info from US dealers for the old cars is a joke -- if you don't have something new then they really don't care to support you.

Does a parts guide/manual exist for these older cars?

Thanks all.

John

Welcome John.  You won't be laughed at around here for asking good questions like this.  The SR4's are great cars and you will really enjoy it.  There are some SR4 users on this site that can help answer a lot of your questions.  If you look in the "Resource Library" you will find some information on the SR4.  Keep in mind that the SR1 is basically a simplified version of the SR4 you will find that most of the technical information on the SR1 applies to the SR4.

Regarding dealership support... Robert Burgess from Radical Canada East is happy to support many of the earlier cars, including SR4's, Prosports, PR6, and Clubsports.  So any help you can't get here you can definitely get from him.  Also, Robert is an extremely nice guy so you will enjoy talking with him.

Is your car in the Registry yet?  The more information we know about your car the more we can help.  What chassis number is it?  What options does it have?  What engine does it have?  Roughly where are you located?

Charley

Hi Charley.  Thanks for the info, I'll contact Robert.  Hope the import fees aren't too bad coming from CAN to US.

I'll get the info together for the Registry.  I'm in Pennsylvania.

I have not seen a pdf parts manual for a SR4 or an SR1. But I understand they did exist for the SR4.   But most of the parts are off the shelf.

I posted an old link in the alternate parts thread to a list of parts and suppliers (in the U.K.)

As for disks, I bought them straight from Radical in the U.K. the price is for a pair, the shipping is reasonable and depending on the pound/dollar ratio, they can be a bargain.  Radical seems to be okay with selling me SR1 parts.  I think because there are not too many cars over here and most dealers don’t stock the specific parts anyway. But the parts that are common to other models, I get from Spring mountain racing. They might have the same approach to a older SR4.

The master cylinders, are off the self items, and can be bought from speed shops like Summit and such. I bought my rebuild kits from them. You just have to figure out the make,  model and bore size.

What engine do you have? The VR will be from the engine manufacturer (I assume). my rectifyer is behind the left side pod, and to get to mounting bolts, the side pod needs to come off. But the connector is accessible.

Any other questions, just ask away. Also include some photos, we love to look at photos!
