Seems that  220-230F (around 105C) s considered an acceptable high water temp for Hayabusa street bikes (stop and go traffic, etc.).

Why does Radical consider 212F / 100C to be too high?

105°C Is when the radiator fan would kick in on a road bike. Acceptable but not an ideal temperature.

The engine in a Radical would be ok at 105° for a short period of time but again not ideal.

Radical consider 100° high as this would be an on track running temperature and it would be very easy for the temperature to increase from there to an unacceptable level. Also heat soak that you would get at this level when coming back off track, if you were not running a rad fan.

Dan, thanks, that makes sense.

On my SR4, I do not have an electric water pump -- the water is circulated only using motors mechanical water pump.  So that means once I switch the motor off, I don't have a way to circulate water.

I guess I should investigate putting an electric booster pump in to run after the engine is shutoff.

No problems.

So you are running a wet sump engine then?

An electric water pump to make the most of the run on would be a good idea.

Are you having a problems with temp or asking based on curiosity?
