What type of SD card is suppose to be used for the smartycam?  My car currently doesn't have a disk that is under a small left side door on the camera.

G'day Trevor,  I recently looked into this and from memory think the following would be a guide.

- only buy 'branded' cards from a reputable seller... there are apparently lots of knock-offs in the online market.'

- Need a Class 10 or better

- Need around 4gb per hour of recording.

 As a result I got a 64gb SanDisk card.

From memory you will need to format it correctly for the Smarty Cam... but so far after that I have had no issues with the card.

Hope that helps!

Rod

I'm running a SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-1 card. As cheap as they are these days you might as well go big. I have a 400 gb card I swap in as well.

This a really simple question, how do you format the disk?

Honestly I think the SmartyCam did it, but I can't remember.
