hello all, today i tried to remove the plugs on my 1500 busa engine which was rebuild by spring mountain with total of 6 hys run time. the plugs are locked in and will not unscrew from the head. to a point that one of the plugs broke while i was trying to undo from the head. believe me this is tango. it feels like the guy the assembled the engine put red lock tight on the plugs before installation. since the plug is broken i have no choice but to remove the head and then remove the broken plug. has anyone had the issue ????

best wishes

firouz

Hi Firouz (@thunder1375), I am sorry to hear about this!  I have never heard of anyone having a similar problem with an engine overhauled by Spring Mountain.  I would not recommend taking the head off because you will have to cut the engine seal.  I would strongly recommend calling Spring Mountain.  They are a very good shop and stand behind their work.

Hi Firouz (@thunder1375),

I work for Spring Mountian Racing. I am sorry to hear that you have had this issue. Unfortunately it is a common issue with steel spark plugs going into aluminum cylinder heads. I can guaranty that red loctite was not used. We use anti-seize on the plugs to try and prevent this.

Please reach out to use so we can discuss options. Again very sorry to hear about the issues.

Thank you,

Sean

i have to extend my apologies to spring mountain. i was led to believe by the previous owner that the engine was fresh from spring mountain. however, after speaking to Sean (good man) i was informed they never refreshed my engine. well, the ball is in my court now. finally thank you spring mountain for being such a professional organization. you guys' rock.

regards
