A month ago, I had the pump and filter replaced.  The car would cut out at WOT on the back straight in 5th gear.  The new pump solved the problem.

This past weekend, the car ran great all day Saturday and two sessions Sunday.  I went to start the car for the third session and it just cranked.  The low fuel light was on.  I put about 4 gallons of fuel in it thinking maybe it ran out of fuel.  I'm positive there was 3-4 gallons still in the tank.  So, I filled it and the low fuel light still stays on.  When I turn the ignition on, I don't hear any pump noise.  Is there something I should check first?  Is there a relay?  I would think there is a pump noise for a second or two to pressurize the rail.

Anyone understand how the low fuel light works?  This would give me an idea of what is not working.  The tank is completely full and the light is still on.

@tmpoquette …sorry I have no idea what the light does or where the sensor is located. My 2015 RSX doesn’t have a ‘fuel light’.  I’m wondering if the light is connected to a level sensor (which is what you have said) or could it be a fuel pressure alarm/light? If that the case it could be pointing to a pump issue (you said you couldn’t hear the pump running when you turn the ignition on)

As @Rjbender says your car will not have a low fuel level light, that will be low fuel pressure. This is consistent with the fact that you cannot hear the pump prime when you turn the power on.

Is it a bag tank or standard metal one? First thing to check would be the relay for the fuel pump, they are in a batch of 3 next to the ECU in the side of the car. If you don't have a spare swap two of them over to see if the fuel pump then works (One is fuel pump, one is rad fan and the other is ignition).

After that see if you are getting power to the pump. If you are on a metal tank it would be worth checking the wires to the fuel pump - these can be just spade terminals and one may have fallen off.

It is also worth noting your ECU may have a trip to turn the engine off if the fuel pressure goes to low, so make sure you cycle the master switch after trying to swap things over as the engine wont start at all once the trip has been activated - even if you have fixed the problem.

Ok thanks for the information.  I will try to swap relays, cycle master switch and see what happens.  I have a standard metal tank.

I swapped the relays and still no pump.  I could feel the relay click when I turned the power on.  I moved the seat up and removed the tank access cover.  I wiggled the wires and moved around the two spade terminals and the pump came on and fired right up.

I'm going to check the two wires closely and also abrade the terminals reinstall with dielectric grease. Must have been a bad connection.
