I hope this is a simple fix!  I had my engine and GDU rebuilt this offseason along with the Life ECU updated with a new battery and just re-assembled everything this weekend.

The issue I am experiencing is that I am not able to shift gears.

The compressor is on and holds pressure, the paddleshifter levers do not initiate any response unless I have the neutral selection button pushed and when that is pushed, you can hear the pop of shifting gears.

I hope I just missed plugging something in during the re-assembly process and is a super easy fix but I have no idea where to start that search.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks!

Bryan

Disregard this message - after I got the engine started and running, car will shift normally.

now to figure out the transmission grind when I let out the clutch…

If it shifted fine before the rebuild, I'd start by checking everything that was disconnected or adjusted during reassembly before assuming it's an internal gearbox problem. Linkage alignment, shift cable adjustment (if applicable), clutch operation, and the shift actuator are all worth a careful look. Even something slightly out of adjustment can stop it selecting gears properly. Hope it's something simple!
