2000 Prosport frame questions
Hopefully someone can offer some insight regarding pieces removed from my original frame.
The pictures show where the cuts were made.
My car was originally equipped with a 1000 but came to me with a Busa in a box, so I don't know of any changed requirements.
As well as my curiosity on weather I need to re weld these missing pieces in place, I am also missing the torsion bar from R/H side of roll bar to the fame above chain area. It seems it will be a challenge with the Suzuki exhaust.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated
Rich
Hi Rich (@rich), The structure that was removed may be the rear air jack mounting point? Here are a few pictures of the area but I don't think they provide enough clarity to help much. I have also included some images from the Prosport parts catalog(in the resource library) that shows that the structure is the same between the two engines but there are different mounting brackets.
Perhaps @mike-p can help because he is currently in the process of converting a Kawasaki powered Prosport to Suzuki power.

@rich, Here is another picture I found that looks to confirm that the missing piece of structure is the rear air jack mount. I am not sure what you are pointing out in the first picture because I don't think there is any missing structure there, unless I am missing something.
@charleyhradicalsportscarregistry-comThank you Charlie that makes sense!
Definitely something(quite large) missing on LH side. A pm from a member suggested it may have been part of reverse hook up? The car doesn't have a reverse rear end.
I see from your pictures that the torsion bar isn't installed either. I assume it won't be an issue then.
Thanks again for the quick response, I'm sure there will be more questions 🙂
If you can get some different pictures of the left side i may be able to help. As you said there is a bracket on the left side of the engine that held a large electric motor that was used for reverse, but I can’t tell if it is in the same place that you have pictured.
@rich, here are a few pictures of the reverse motor and where it attached to the car. It was a giant motor that would engage directly onto the shaft for the chain sprocket on the engine.

@charley Thank you for this. That is defiantly the missing bracket location, mystery solved 👍
