Hi all,

My name is Tage Evanson and my wife and I have owned and operated the NASA (National Auto Sport Association) Arizona Region since Jan 2009.  We are fairly well known in the club racing community.  I did quite a bit of autox the SCCA before that starting around 1997 and was on the Arizona board of Directors between 1999-2008.  I thought I would start off with that info to help build a little credibility that I'm not some scammer...

You will also need to pardon me for not knowing all the proper part number or way to describe these items.  My friend and I raced his SR3 and SR8 back in 2011-2013 with NASA.  He owned the cars and was a decent driver.  I was the better driver so I provided coaching, vehicle transportation and light maintenance on the cars in exchange for letting me race them with him (sweet deal for me!).

I have no idea which parts are still desirable so I can and will take lots of pictures for anything folks are interested in.  I'm just not sure if the 2006 SR3 (1300cc I believe) or the 2006 SR8 has parts that are interchangeable with the more modern stuff these days.  I've had all these parts sitting in my garage for years but have been too busy to take the time to list them.  Since many of us have a little extra time from being stuck at home from this COVID crap, here goes...

  • Hewland 6 speed sequential gearbox off the SR8 - this blew up and was rebuilt by Spring Mtn.  It had ~3 hours on it when the motor blew up.  LOL!  I know these run around $20K when new.  Asking $10K or best reasonable offer.  It will include the differential as well.
  • Complete transaxle from the SR3 - this was also refreshed by Spring Mtn and had ~4 hours on it when the motor threw a rod.  I don't recall specifically what was refreshed in the transmission at the time of service but there was no issues with the transmission.  I will be honest that I have no clue what these are worth.  Someone tell me what a good/cheap price is and that will be my asking price. GDU SOLD
  • 1 set of 3 piece wheels (black centers, silver lips) - 16x10.5" & 15x8" - $1000
  • 1 set of 3 piece wheels (black centers, black lips) - 16x10.5" & 15x8" - $1000
  • Paddle shift kit - has the steering wheel paddles, computer, wiring, air pump, etc. I pulled this off the SR3.  Spring Mtn had just installed this kit for stupid money ($14K?).  The kit had ~4 hours on it before the engine threw a rod.  I think I have seen the bare kits brand new for around $6-7K.  Asking $3500.  Shift kit SOLD
  • SR8 standard axle - just the solid metal rod with splines on each end.  I recall Spring Mtn. charging something ridiculous like $800 for this.  Asking $250.
  • SR3 Complete exhaust - headers, collectors and muffler which came off a 2006 SR3 1300cc.  Nothing fancy but no damage and no visible cracks on any pipes/welds - HEADERS SOLD - muffler still available $200 shipped OBO.
  • SR8 Rear body work - This is the complete rear engine cover body work in good condition.  Currently painted black with a large single white stripe in the middle and some classing decals still on it.  I believe these are $6K+ when you buy from Spring Mtn and you really don't see them on the used market from what I recal.  Asking $2500.
  • Sway bar - this was the same part on either SR3 or SR8 chassis back then.  I think the one I still have is still brand new and was a spare since we somehow broke one of these.  Asking $100
  • Misc - I know I have various control arms and such but not sure if there's a market for these since Radical claims these "time out".  IMO, just inspect them often for stress cracks and if you're really worried, just weld a tiny gusset in the corner.  The control arms are nothing special, just mild steel or maybe even inexpensive ERW tubing?  I may also have 3 airjacks, definitely an alternator off the SR8 (brand new).  Email me and we can talk over the phone.

Prices above plus shipping.  I don't need the money so I'm not going to give anything away but I also just want this stuff gone.  If someone can use multiple items, I'm willing to cut even better deals so I have less transactions to deal with and help us both out!

Please start with an email at Tage@nasaaz.com.  We can do a Facetime chat or Zoom meeting to review any parts you're interested in.

Hi Tage (@tage-evanson), welcome to the Forum. You have a lot of great parts.  I know someone that is looking for a GDU si I will connect him with you.  He may also be able to use some of the other suspension parts that you have.  Pictures would be very helpful.

Charley

here is a pic of the sway bar.  Not sure if it is a Nik-link one though.  It measures about .75” OD.

@tage-evanson, Hi Tage, would you be interested in selling the headers without the muffler? I have a cracked header with a hole in it and only need one header but would buy all the headers. Please PM or email me krittir@gmail.com Thanks!

Shift kit and SR3 GDU/Transaxle sold.

I also found a set of 4 calipers (all the same/larger size) used in the front as well as a pair of rotors with floating aluminum hats.  Asking $1000 for all 4 calipers and the pair of rotors.

Also found a set of wheel lugs (two blue and two left) so it's a complete left and right side set.  $100

I also have the huge socket (for the single wheel lugs) and a reducer down to 1/2".  SOLD

Hi Jerry,

I have 6 (black/black) rears and 4 fronts (2 black/sliver & 2 black/black).  All of them are 3 piece wheels.

  • 1 set of 3 piece wheels (black centers, silver lips) - 16x10.5" & 15x8" - $1000
  • 1 set of 3 piece wheels (black centers, black lips) - 16x10.5" & 15x8" - $1000

The silver lipped wheels seem to have a slightly more aggressive offset (in the front) as I recall needing a small amount of trimming to the body work in the front (rears fit fine) depending on ride height.

Email me if interested at Tage@nasaaz.com

Tage...super newb here in terms of SR3 knowledge. What is the advantage/disadvantage of the 3 piece wheels? The current spec wheel is the one piece.
