Tage...super newb here in terms of SR3 knowledge. What is the advantage/disadvantage of the 3 piece wheels? The current spec wheel is the one piece.

With a 3pc wheel you can (sometimes) replace the barrel (rim section) when you bend it and re-use the spider (center section).

The barrels are often lighter because they're made separately from the spider, as well.

The advantage of a 3 piece wheel is they are usually lighter.  They are also serviceable.  When you bend a wheel beyond repair, you throw away a 1 piece wheel.  When you bend a 3-piece wheel you just buy the part that is bent.  9 times of a 10 it is the inner barrel.  If the center piece is damaged it is probably because you hit a concrete wall or hard barrier.

The main downside is they cost more initially but are cheaper to fix since you are only buying the shell (inner or outer).  Usually $200-300 for a brand new shell and any 3 piece wheel maker can do it, not Radical specific.  Since you can get any shell size and thickness, sometimes people make the shells to thin trying to save weight and when that happens, they can bend even easier.  You can make them thicker to be more durable but then you're about same weight or even more than the 1 piece wheels.
