Hi,

I would like to sell this Hayabusa  drysump 1500cc engine with the Cosworth Ecu

I paid quite alot for it as it was for a land speed project that my customer pulled the plug on . Built and maintained by 48 factory motorsports .I don't know the hours as I don't believe what people tell you. I work as a R&d engineer at Yoshimura both in japan and the US so I am quite familiar with this power plant .I own the most expense Hayabusa in the world ,factory built race bike cost $250,000 back in 1999.

The engine is still crated  714 223 0111

it is also listed on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/115427029787

20220615 105942
20220615 110600

20220615 105359

$8000

interesting engine can you elaborate on some of the details on the engine.  Is it a k7 or k8 based engine?  Was this originally a Radical engine or is it a standard Hayabusa?  Do you know what the boar and stroke is for this engine? I thought the Muzzy kits were for k7 engines and used a 63mm stroke and 86mm bore, is this correct?

Thanks

the engine came from a radical  it looks like a k7 engine,Honestly I don't believe what people tell me about engines unless I can see it myself so I know Rob Muzzy very well (crew chief for Kawasaki ) so I can ask him. Since it has a spacer plate I would believe it is stroked, i ws told it was 1500cc ?, cnc ported but the main details would be a 48 motorsports.

What is the story on this bike?  Can you post a picture or link?

That's a K8/Gen 2 based engine.

It doesn't look to have any of the Radical factory mods so won't have originally been an engine from the factory.

Muzzy blocks were mainly 86mm (although I think they did some 87mm) so as a minimum this engine is 1510cc. As mentioned though with that spacer it is most likely on a stroker crank with standard length rods, at a guess I would say 72mm, making the engine 1672cc.

If it has CNC gasflowed cylinder head I would assume that it has some different cams as well.

That is a very good price for that engine, especially when you consider that the ECU alone is £2000 GBP new.

I would however only be using that engine for very short sprints in a Radical or getting it rebuilt by someone who understands the requirements for a Radical.
