Looking for a usable one of the type with 4 threaded pins over which the rear body and wing frame seat and are secured by hitch pins. USA good, East Coast best.

Thanks!

Eric

At least one, if not several.

Eric, let me get you pictures. It'd be coming from California, which isn't very "east", but ... 8)

Despite my car having been a Clubsport initially, it got all the Prosport updates, and about every other thing one could sprinkle money on.

So it has the rear body frame that has 4 3/8"-20 body pins, and the wing mount stay fastened to the rear body, and are skewered on the 4 pins.  I've measured and mapped the 4 pickup points on the chassis and can determine the pattern of the body pin bosses from my good wing mount - but the height is mostly speculation. I'm modeling the weldment in SolidWorks, and the plan is to make a fixture to which the 8 bosses will bolt, and all the tubes - laser cut from my models - will be very easily tacked and welded.

But a usable frame would make this much easier and more certain.

@clubsport055, I know Mike (@mikesmith) would be happy to sell you one. The challenge may be finding it because he got a ton of Prosport spares when he purchased Prosport 119.  Hopefully he can get you pictures soon.

Also, please tell me more about your car, I would really like to get it added to the Registry.  I assume it is chassis number 55 based on your screen name.  Can you send me some pictures including a picture of the chassis number plate?  Also any info that you are comfortable sharing on the car.  The reason I ask people for a picture of the chassis number plate is because on the early cars it has the build date listed on it which is helpful in documenting the cars.

Thanks,

Charley

I see that the mount I have pictured isn't the correct mount.  Here is a picture from Prosport 108 that I once owned and it matches the one you have.  If Mike doesn't have one like the one you need perhaps one of the other Prosport owners can get you the measurement you need.

@clubsport055, What are you actually looking for? Do you need the frame, or just measurements?

I'm pretty certain that I have all the pieces you have pictured there, just need to shuffle a few piles of parts around to get to them.

Any luck laying hands on one of those rear body frames? Absent a usable frame I have to proceed with the CAD model, welding fixture, making bosses and having tubes laser cut, then ultimately welding and painting a frame. I believe I'll be able to make a rear body in fiberglass and can reuse my nose for the one race I hope to make this year to maintain my license. A body frame would ease the process greatly!

Thanks!

@clubsport055, do you have a full set of molds?  I know there is a guy in the south east that has a set.

@charleyhradicalsportscarregistry-com

I bought Ben Beasley's molds in late 2012. Early style side pods, nose and tail, diffuser, fender vent louvers. I have the large carbon fiber crush box and splitter that used to be available in the aftermarket, and I've made a mold for the crush box, and am in the process of re-making the splitter mold on a big slab of shiny Ikea door panel with all the mold features adhered so the vacuum bag can go directly on the mold with mastic. (my original had the parts screwed down and was porous)

@clubsport055

Apologies for the delay - I do indeed have the frame & the wing mount extricated.

The wing mount's not much use to me without the frame, so if you need a spare I can make it part of the deal.

To finish this thread off - Mike sent a nice rear body frame and an early 4-strut type wing frame. In trade I sent him a pair of front lower control arms and 3 suspension uprights, which I no longer need as I'm using uprights of my own design and manufacture.

A good deal was had by all.

Thanks to those who facilitated and weighed in.
