I will air freight it as long as cost is not more than the estimated $3400-3800, essentially double what std shipping would cost.
@sr10formetoo I have one coming by sea. I asked about air freight and was told that the price was up around $15k right now. I didn’t bother to get a quote , maybe he was off.
@pbc223 Peter - I won't know the exact cost for air freight until my car is ready to be shipped. I was told by my dealer that the cost has come way down. When did yours ship? Do you have an anticipated arrival date? Into what port?

@sr10formetoo mine is on the water now. Should be in port the end of the month. I’m not sure how quickly it will move out of port.

@rjbender RJ - What I was told is that the standard shipping costs (ocean freight) of $3800 is included in the MSRP of my car. There was not a separate line item of cost on my invoice. The dealer was willing to kick-in another $1000 and I agreed to kick-in $4000. So the actual cost is approximately $8800 for air freight. Since this represents only a 2% uplift on the total cost, I thought it was way better than waiting some inordinate amount of time to get it.

@sr10formetoo, how did you get that deal? Your dealer must be eating a lot of the cost. I was just talking to one of the dealers and he told me that he just air shipped a car and it cost him $18,000 in freight and duties. Even if you subtract the rate for the sea shipping it is still an amazing deal… Congratulations 🙂
@charleyhradicalsportscarregistry-com I wonder to what extent the factory is kicking in on the air freight. If Radical is similar to the other European car companies, they won't recognize the revenue until the car is physically in the US. With year end approaching, they may be incentivized to help move the cars.
Well, that was quick. The car is already in Sonoma. Air freight. Amazing. For me at least, worth the additional freight cost. Dealer booked a spot earlier and the week and boom, here by Friday.
Congratulations! It looks great! What chassis number is it? We need to get it into the Registry 😀
