I'm trying to change from the muffler that was installed on my car when it came with the louder/race exhaust.  I'm assuming that it hooks up where I've noted with the orange arrow (and not where the red x is)?  How does one get the stock resonator (?) off - just a lot of elbow grease?

G'day @dwang2000,

Yes... you could try putting a little bit of 'penetrene' or WD40 into the joint first.  Mine came off without that, but I had to tap it with a soft faced hammer to get it to start moving.

I just replaced the 'quiet exhaust' with this....

@dwang2000 ... nothing that really sounds like it does in real life.  I have the recordings below.

The first one is from my first ever test drive of the car while the old quiet exhaust was still on it

... for reference of how it used to be.

The second one is at the track a few months later when I drove in a recent hillclimb competition.... the car definitely sounded much better than it used to - you can hear the commentary for yourselves (that's my friends who are my regular pit crew) - the best sound is near the end as the is loaded a bit higher there...

The final one was after I started the engine for the first time with the exhaust on the car... but it seemed to play up with my iPhone's microphone... and it doesn't really sound like it actually does (maybe it's too loud and the camera mic 'cuts off' the full sound?)
