hows it going guys, i am looking to add a second battery to my sr3, it has the RPE 1500 but does not have the 24v system in it and cranks very slow. i understand how to wire it all up and that radical has a secondary charging box to charge the second battery separately but does anyone know of another "box" or system to charge it instead of purchasing a "radical" one?

My thoughts on other options are:

1. Don't bother with charging for the battery, it is only being used for starting so if you charge it up every few meetings/track days it will be fine.

2. Contact North Motorsport (they are UK based) and do a nice 1 amp split charging box which we have run for 100's of hours with no problems.

3. Look for a split charge relay set up as used in a camper van/caravan, its basically the same thing just packaged differently in the Radical box.

@rlm-dan  thanks dan! i figured i didnt really need a charging system for the second battery. i will throw in a secondary battery and hook up a battery tender and call it a day.

My car had the "factory 24V upgrade" installed by one of the respected specialists in NA.  Well it was, cough cough, far from done properly.....

At any rate, we relocated the second battery, and wired a charging port/plug that sits beside the rain light/oil tank heater plug, for easy access for when it need charging.  Very easy to charge now, and if/when the battery may evern need replacement, it will take minutes. Used Antigravity for both batteries and they are working well, much like the ones we put in the many other race and street cars in our shop.

@jeff-alton, sounds like a good solution.  Where did you relocate the battery to?  Any pictures?
