Hi guys, so I auto crossed the car yesterday for the first time and it was pretty damn impressive. I was however concerned as I made the last turn through the timing  lights I was maybe going about 10 miles an hour and made a sharp left 150 degree turn with the clutch in so the car dropped to idle around the turn and my car idles at around 550 RPM. Seems kind of low. What I was concerned about is the oil pressure actually dropped to zero and the engine instantly shut off. It started right up and had great oil pressure and no issues for the rest of the day. Wondering if the idle speed is so low that in sharp left hand turns I'm not developing enough oil pressure as the oil flows back to the dry sump tank. Was thinking maybe of raising the idle speed and slightly overfilling the dry sump tank. Not sure what the correct idle speed for the motor should be.

Yes your idle speed is low.  According to the Mechanics Manual it should be set to 1600 RPM.  At idle speeds it is normal for the oil pressure to drop low enough to turn on the low oil pressure light...but it shouldn't go to zero.  Perhaps adjusting you oil pressure will help.

Thanks Charley, I’ll raise the idle. I’m going to install a better tach as I have a gen 1 radical dash and a racepak g2x that has an erratic tach but is pretty consistent with startup idle somewhere between 550 and 700.
