Hi guys! Anyone here with any knowlege about inlet temp sensors?

i dont trust mine at the momemt. Im not sure of my position of the sensor is being affected by temperature around it.

if i take of the engine cover, i can idle for ever and have around 32-35c IAT... even after 6h in dyno i was never over 40c , measured at the inlet straight before TBS..

but when i put the rear cover on i can idle for 30min and straight away hit 55-60c, while driving im down to 44-48 again , even the air from outside goes into the back straight over it..

so my question is will the sorroundings and the surface sensor is attached to affect the sensors and fool the IAT readings?

or will it ONLY read the airtemp

hitting the needle inside sensor?

this is my position as we speak
