My car came with Hankook's and I'd like to pick up a second set of tires. As I'm new to this car, does anyone have advice on what to run/buy?
I don't really plan on running in the Radical cup series but might do a couple races with SCCA and NASA. To keep things simple I'm leaning towards staying with the Hankook as Radical has good information on how to setup the car and I'd rather not spend the time coming up with a new setup. I'm not 100% on that though.
Someone posted links to purchase the tires on Amazon but the larger size is out of stock. Tire rack doesn't carry them and some searching hasn't come up with any other sources. I'm guessing I should be able to purchase from one of the Radical dealers, are there any other options? What can I expect for cost? Fronts look like $275 plus 24.75 for shipping.
If what you have on the car is working well I would stick with them. All of the Radical dealers should have the tires in stock. I don’t know of another good source.
Agree with Charley, I purchased my tires from Spring Mountain. The price was pretty close to what I had seen online.
Thanks for the replies, I'll contact a dealer. Going to make an 11hr trip to NCM and don't want the trip ruined by having a flat tire. I'm used to having at least 3 sets of tires with me, spent to many years racing. LOL
What's the operating temp on those hankooks? I have the michelins on my sr3 and have a hard time getting them up to temp for autocross.
