hi all, last time  i had car out I did have low air / gearshift issues

i also had voltage issues that resulted in parking the car (alternator failed) so am hoping that is the cause, but I now have a fully charged battery (in workshop) and my compressor seems very slow (I suspect maybe too slow) to recharge air tank?

I've googled and searched on here but I cant find anywhere what the recharge times should be?

from an empty air tank with fully charged batt i get the following

25 secs to 4 bar

55 secs to 6 bar

1min 20sec  to 7 bar (pressure cutout)

the last 25 seconds for only 1 bar seams like ages, that's a number of gear changes on most tracks using air so i suspect my air compressor would be running constant and not keeping up

can someone please drain their airtank and let me know how recharge takes

assuming its too slow, anyone have source for compressor rebuilt kits or alternate compressor supply

thanks

Jase

Hi Jase (@jase),  My car has been sitting for over a month so the tank pressure should have been ~0.  I turned on the power and it took about 45 seconds until it shut off.

Have you checked for air leaks in the system?  It is also worth checking the screws on the pneumatic valve block to make sure they are tight.  This is a common area for air leaks.

any idea on reabuild kit or compressor supply source ?

thanks

As Charley said above check you valve block leaks.

The compressor engine is a Land Rover parts and rebuild kits are available, drop me a PM and will send you the info on them on Monday.
