Anyone else able to go to the MVP Track Time event on 10/12?  http://www.mvptracktime.com/

Would be nice to run with another radical for a change.  I'll be there with my SR3.  I'm also meeting a race team from the area who's considering a radical.  Would be nice to show them a few and what they can do.

We will as long as the weather's good.  With luck the fall colors will come in before the event.  Maybe a couple weeks to early.  The run from the carousel to Canada corner in fall can be really beautiful.  I've caught myself doing a little too much sight seeing more than once in that section.  LOL

Hopefully I'll be able to pull a few more Radical drivers into the mix.

Ahh what a weekend!!

Weather wasn't the best 30's and 40's but MVP put on a great event.  Can't believe the performance the SR3 has!!  We seemed to be the fastest car on track except a Porsche with a bizillion horsepower and ........ an SR8!

Couldn't believe it, we hadn't received a blue flag for the entire event until something low and black came screeming by like we were standing still going from 3 to 5.  It didn't take long to figure out what it was.  I've never been on track with one before.  That's some crazy performance.

Think I'll stick with my SR3 though, really enjoy watching the expressions when people come up to ask what it is after they were lapped 2-3 times in a session and find out it only has 200hp and we're two up.  🙂

Hopefully we'll make some converts in our area and have more to run with soon!

Sounds like a great (but chilly) day.  Road America is one of my favorite tracks.

Did you get any good pictures of your car out on the track?

Charley, there was a professional photographer at the track.  I've contacted him to see what he was able to get as my normal photographer was sitting next to me.

I'll let you know.  Hoping for at least a couple as we don't have many yet.

Hey Trakmnky, Road America is my home track. I'm currently looking to switch from a GT3 to a Radical for next season. What kind of lap times are you running in your SR3?

Not sure as I still don't have my data working yet.  🙁  I ran 2:25 in a FE2 car a few weekends ago and I can tell you it's a lot faster than that.  I've only made 3 events with the car so far so still figuring it out.

Running with MVP there were a lot of high powered cars there and most of the drivers were decent in the advanced group.  While there were several cars that could walk away from us on the straights we crushed everything on lap times.  With both my wife and I in the car we were hitting 135 at the end of each straight.  The guys at team Stradale out of Chicago do 145ish I think.  I was braking at the 175ft marker going into 5 and 190-200 for 1 and 12.  The SR3 has incredible braking ability and corners even better.  The closing speed going through the carousel and kink was alarming at times and we had to back out of it quite often to keep from running others over.

I've raced a 520whp miata with a big wing and splitter.  Somewhat akin to GT3.  This is a whole new experience.  It's the first car I've had with full aero and wow what a difference it makes.  It's not entirely a momentum based ride like a miata as it does have respectable acceleration.  The braking and cornering are in a class all their own.  I wished I would have skipped the previous 6 race cars and just went straight to the radical.  I'm a little biased but you can't go wrong.  They look awesome, get tons of attention at the track, super fun to drive, forgiving when pushed to far, will carry a passenger, well designed and easy to work on, what more could anyone want.  🙂

If you run a GT3 car we've probably walked past each other at SCCA events.  I live in Menomonee Falls so hit Road America, Blackhawk, and Gingerman all the time.  I've been running a spec racer ford (white with checkered flag in vinyl on the back) the last 5yrs or so.
