  1. We have the 2009-2014 SR3-SR8 molds for resin infuse process.

on fiber glass or carbon fober this is a great option when looking for body parts.

Carbon Fiber Body is 75 lbs lighter than Fiber Glass OEM .

full body kit (17 pieces in carbon is around 14,000)

Those look great Hans!  Do you have the mold for a single seat?

Wow, Hans. Very intriguing for me and my worn out bodywork on my 2007 SR8. Are you making less expensive fiberglass parts as well?

We only have single seat molds. I will recheck mold sizes.

Perfect!  I'll plan on showing up on your door step and playing in the next few days.  I need an address and I'll bring my own materials. 😊

Infusion vacuum forming is my next process to learn as I have a fairly complicated center console and dash board that I'm working on and think I'll be going down this route.

You should do a step by step post so everyone can see just what's involved in making these parts.  I think many would be quite surprised at the labour required.

You mentioned that it's upwards of a 75 pound savings using carbon.  Are you dropping in the number of layers versus fiberglass and/or not using gelcoat?  Why the weight difference?

I would guess that if anyone orders parts it's going to be a build when ordered so what about using both carbon and fiberglass?  You could use the carbon as the outer (visible) layer and then do the backing with glass if someone was looking for the carbon fiber look.  Could still cut on glass amount usage, get the carbon look/partial weight advantage and not be as expensive.  Have you considered throwing in a layer or two of Kevlar around the wheel wells and the shields in the wheel areas?  That would cut down on some of the cracking we see and keep things from getting shredded when a tire lets go.

Just thinking out loud.

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'WOW-What a Ride!'"

Richard, you are right on the point. By the time you make plugs and molds you can be around 500 hours and close to 100 grand. That is the reason body parts are so expensive. First to cover the tooling investment and then each part require many hours in process.  A good resin infuse process in carbon fiber do not required many layers/resin to be strong. That make all the difference in weight. We have done some seats with kevlar so there are endless posibilities as you mention. Right now all the molds are in Colombia South America and we ship everything in containers.  Labor is less expensive there so we can manage the cost down. Shop is under construction next to Roebling  Road in Savannah Georgia and we expect to open before ghe end of the year.
