Radical time expire the SR8 engine at 40 hours but it seems to me that some parts will last considerably longer and some really are getting ready to be replaced at 40 hours.  One component that is a candidate for more frequent replacement would be the overhead cam drive chains.  Radical use standard Suzuki parts and the chain for one bank is stock Suzuki 'busa but the other bank is from another Suzuki model and Radical aren't telling.

Anyhow, back in the day I raced bikes and did kinda sorta meet the Vance and Hines guys and Vance and Hines make all the hard chains for the 'busa engines.  Their crew chief did tell me who makes the chains for them so I can get the short bank and long bank chains (V&H spec) that are hard and an upgrade according to the USA 'busa aftermarket over the standard Suzuki parts.

The point of this thread though, is that you have to split the crank case to change the short bank chain.  I think it would be possible to make the drive gear in two pieces so that you can change the chain w/o splitting the case.  To make the parts always cost a lot for one.  Any interest in a bulk design and manufacture for the gear drive?

Regards

-Andy
