Hi,

We're a developer and manufacturer of tire/brake temperature sensors (both wired and wireless). Working together with the local Radical dealer to install our systems on 3 cars (2 x SR3-RSR and 1 x SR3-XX). Does anyone have some pointers on what would be the easiest way to link into the AiM dash without splicing wires? Are there any hidden extension ports in the car?

Thanks,

Alex

Hi @alexxs, Aim sells a data hub so you can add extra sensors.  These can be added to existing systems.  You might want to reach out at Matt (@Trailbrake).  He is an expert in setting up Aim systems and is an Aim Dealer.  He website is Trailbrake.com.

Thanks, Matt is actually our US dealer so have a great relationship with him. Not sure why I didn't figure to ask him first. Thanks for the tip 🙂

Btw, I'd still really appreciate it if someone can share the wiring diagrams for these cars? Didn't have any luck online

@alexxs, There are wiring diagrams for the RS (which is very similar to the RSX) in the Registry Resource Library, but they don’t cover all of the Aim Sensors.  I don’t know about any more detailed wiring diagrams.

Hey guys - talking to AiM, there isn't much of a standard for how the data portion of the cars was handled. For the SR3-XX, it has a PDM in it. I believe the SR3-RSR has an MXL2 in it. Both of those have the capability to accept the Alsense IR sensors (and my TPMS 🙂 ) The question is on the wiring.

For the SR3-XX, I don't know if they are using CAN2 for the steering wheel or not. I believe they set the UK AiM set the keypad up on CAN2 and I'm not sure if there way will accept anything else. The standard method the rest of the world uses on the keypads allows for more components on CAN2.

The SR3-RSR, if it has an MXL2, would work with the everything provided they have CAN2 from the 22 pin connector on the dash available. If they didn't include them, then you would have to rework the harness to get the pins in and have some leads to work from.

If someone can check how they are wired, I can certianly help out. If someone is around NH and has one, I can meet up and check it out too.

Hi Matt

I run a SR3xx out of the Boston area. Will be removing complete body for paint in a week or so for paint. If you would like to come by and check out harness feel free to stop in . Also have a new SR10 on its way across the pond which you can check out also.
