I have been contemplating sourcing some aftermarket wheels to fit my SR3 but will probably have to order multiple sets.

Just trying to gauge interest in aftermarket Radical Wheels. Is there any demand for them? Cost would obviously be less than factory wheels.

Like so many things with Radicals, the low volume and the fact that they are all over the world makes the aftermarket a challenging business.  If they are a Low cost strong wheel that is a direct replacement there could be a market for them.  The key questions I would be thinking about are: 1) How much will they cost?  A used set of Radical wheels seem to sell in the ~$1k to $1.5k range so would these be competitive with those? 2) Could they be used for the racing series?  I don't know if there is a requirement to use factory wheels, and the answer may be different for the Radical Cup (spec series) compared to other series.  3) What is the minimum order quantity that you need?  If you only need to sell four sets compared to 100 sets the answer could be different.

Sorry to provide questions and not answers.  Keep us posted on your progress.

Radical is now selling one piece wheels that are much more reasonable than the original 3 piece design. I bought new ones from Spring Mountain for $2500 for a set.

I'm a Forgeline dealer, and I spoke to them about making a set for me before I bought the new ones. They weren't interested: the wheels are too small. They only make 17"+ wheels... and I suspect that may be true of most aftermarket manufacturers.

The original 3-piece Wheel was from Image;

I ordered spares last year directly from them.

new cost I think would be on par with used wheels or less (hopefully). volume would determine final costs. Weight/Strength would be similar to OEM or if possible superior. They would not be pro series legal. That's a spec series and they'd be non-spec. As for volumne I wanted to see if there was interest before talking super in depth with manufacturers (had a few prelim copnversation). Probably looking at 10 sets minimum though. Then I'd have to figure out where the hell I'd store another 40 wheels in my shop!  ?

I think the Radical community could really benefit from some additional suppliers in the mix. I doubt Radical feel that way though. 🙂
