My SR10 order locks in early July so I am trying to flesh out any options that could be added by the factory.  One that has come up is the air jacks.  I understand in talking with a friend that if you race you could have a timed pitstop and as such the air jacks are necessary.  But for me, as a HPDE only Radical owner, they may not be necessary.

Pluses -

avoids having to manually jack up the car

makes it easier to warm up the transmission (?)

can always be added post factory

slight positive for re-sale (?)

Negatives -

adds about 25 lbs

subject to incremental maintenance/component failure

requires compressed air or high pressure nitrogen to raise the car

one of the more expensive options ~$2k

not necessary if you have track support personnel with manual jacks

Thoughts?

You summed up the pros/cons well, now just need to decide your preference.  For my new SR3XX, I had air jacks installed reluctantly, but dang glad that I did even though I do not race either.  With that being said, I also purchased the low lever jack for the front, but have yet to use it.  Obviously, buying all the nitrogen bottle setup is PIA and ~$800 with aluminum tank, no regrets after first 3 weekends.  It makes any track or shop maintenance a simple task.  Plus for me, I have a car lift in my garage, so makes it super easy to lift on air jacks, then swing the two post lift arms under the car due to very low clearance.

I went for the air jacks.  I don't  anticipate using them when I race but jacking the car up manually is a pain.  I did it for convenience.
