Morning all,

I have new rear 280mm floating rotors for my SR8 and just wondering if anyone can confirm the torque setting for the 10 M6 bolts that hold the disk onto the bell.

There’s been a couple of stories about these shearing when out on track for the first time.

Some of the owner’s manuals state 8ft/lbs on the exploded diagram and 8Nm on the tightening torque table. Hi-spec also state 16Nm on their website.

Thanks hope someone can help 🤞🏼

Thanks,

Gordon.

Hi Gordon(@dunky83),  Radical recommends using the torque values it the latest manual.  The recommended torque is 80 Ft/lbs for the bolts maonting the rotors to the hubs and 8 ft/lbs for the fasteners between the hat and the floating rotor.

@charleyhradicalsportscarregistry-com Thanks but I’m talking about the 10No M6 Bolts that bolt through the actual disk. The ones in that picture above marked as 8ft/lb. I’m sure in the table on the next page from where that diagram is it states 6ft/lb And 8Nm for the same bolts??

Sorry @charleyhradicalsportscarregistry-com Just seen the manual you’ve taken that from which is a little different from the one I was looking at.

Just a quick update on this.

I found when changing the rotors the small washers on the bolt side of the bell/rotor were turning round a little and touching the disk which meant when they were all tight there was no movement (float) on the disk at all. I slackened them all off again and clamped a small flat piece of hardwood to the disk to align the washer central to the slots and then tightened them up.

Probably something most people know about but for the novices like me I thought Id share it. 👍
