Hi all, does anyone know what the torque setting is for the roll bar hoop supports? Should be the same for both SR3 and SR8. Thanks!

Hi Crit, I have an aviation background so I tend to torque everything.  But to be honest I have never torqued these bolts.  I put anti-seize on them and tighten them drown firmly.  You could use the standard torque values on page 44 of the SR3 Gen 3 manual if you want an exact value.

@charleyhradicalsportscarregistry-com, Thanks Charley. What’s your aviation background? My B.S. was aviation management and in undergrad I was the captain of the SJSU Precision Flight Team, we competed on the national level against Embry Riddle and other colleges that had flight teams. My dad and I owned an Aeronca Champ 7EC but sold that many years back.

@crit, I retired from a long career at Boeing.  I started in a leadership roll in Commercial aircraft programs.  Then I moved to military aircraft, Research and development/advanced composites, and then over to space programs such as the Space Shuttle and satellites.  I spent the last ~10 years as an executive leading a large engineering group.  I was fortunate to work on many amazing products with some truly amazing people.

@charleyhradicalsportscarregistry-com, what an amazing career! We had a neighbor that worked on the Milestar program as well as F-22 development. I started out in aerospace engineering but switched to aviation after 2 years of C++ and programming classes I realized I loved being behind the controls more than behind a keyboard. That’s awesome you got to work both in civil and defense.
