Next time you're in London...
My wife and I were in London over the weekend and visited the Radical factory in Peterborough on Monday.
I emailed the head office early last week and it was quite easy to schedule a time for us to visit.
The train ride was a quick 50 mins from London's Kings Cross station plus a 5 min taxi ride to the factory -- highly recommended vs driving up which would have taken at least 90 mins.
Cheers to Naz for scheduling our visit and Will for being our tour guide.
Some things I learned...
Over 100 employees. Three companies, basically. The main "car" company, the engine company (RPE) and the machining/fabrication company, the latter of which does some work for outside customers.
150 cars a year, so about 3 shipping per week. Seems like it takes about 3 days to get a car done once the frame is moved into the assembly area. Parts (many/most? of which are made in-house) are collected and staged on a blue multi-level cart and then rolled to the assembly area to be installed on the car.
Interesting fact... Wings are installed backwards at the factory (along with a warning sticker!!) so that the entire car can be loaded as cargo onto passenger planes.
Next time you're in London, take a trip up -- they're a great crew who make our cars! They even dug up some info on my car -- apparently was the first demonstrator that went to Spring Mountain.
That’s great to know! It sounds like a great trip. The added history about your car is very cool. I have to say that everyone I have met from Radical have been great people and a pleasure to talk with.

I made that exact trip (London, Kings Cross, train) last August. Will was our host too. I thoroughly enjoyed it as well!
