My 09 SR8 is back on the lift... engine is coming out for oil leak repair and maybe a DIY engine refresh.

But that's a separate thread.

I've been asked a few times what I I use for lift points, so this time I snagged a few pictures.

One thing though: the rear lift point is near the car's center of gravity. Always remove things from the rear of the car first (engine cover, wheels, etc.), before removing them from the front of the car. I stack the front wheels onto the front diffuser to keep the front of the car from getting the too light. Otherwise the car can tip over off the lift.

@parsonsj

What is the red and green pad between the car and lift arms shown on these photos?  I have a similar asymetric two post lift, but have not determined appropriate places to lift yet.  I have a new SR3 XX coming, so have not seen the underside yet.

Sorry Dan for the slow response.

The red pad is an ordinary floor jack polyurethane pad designed to reduce scratches that the metal saddle typically leaves. The green pad is a street hockey puck, with the hard plastic "sliders" removed. I use them to keep from scratching the car, and for an additional couple of inches of lift when possible.
