Hey guys,

I just bought a sr3 chassis number 96, I picked it up from Radical Canada West in Kelowna BC. I am told it has the gen 2 1340 engine with newly rebuilt GDU and a host of other goodies to it.

What it doesn't have is a display telling me what gear its in. I want to buy the display and the wiring cable for it but my local Bike shop kept asking me for a model year.... I told them I have no idea and their response was " I cant help you then". 😉

How can I identify what I need to buy to add this to my car?

Secondly I need to replace my reverse gear cable as the sheath is pulling away from the cable and not actually moving the plunger on the other end. Whats the best solution for doing this?

@meatman Hi Josh, congratulations on your SR3 purchase and welcome to the forum. Here is a recent post about adding a gear indicator:

https://radicalsportscarregistry.com/radicalforum/alternate-parts-source/gear-indicator-display-2/

In regards to the reverse cable, couple of options, there are a few people parting out Radicals that may have a used cable, post in the wanted/for sale section and search the threads as well. For a new one, contact Chris at Spring Mountain and they will help you get a new one as they have a huge inventory of Radical parts and can order from the UK if they don’t have it.

Post some pics of your car and add it to the registry!

Hi Josh (@meatman), Congratulations on your new car!   Your car was made in 2003.  Here is a reference guide showing model years for each chassis number. https://radicalsportscarregistry.com/identifying-radical-model-years-by-chassis-number/ The 2003 cars were from chassis number 43 through 130.  When you have a chance please take a few minutes to add your car to the Registry.  It is easy to do.

Charley
