Hi folks! Late to the game here. I'm the third (at least) owner of RMS0141. I'm in the final stages of an EFI Hayabusa rebuild. Car was a hoot before this, after, hopefully better.

Are there any resources for calibrating the Prosport dash to the Suzuki ECU? And/or are there better/easier gauges that everyone recommends for these cars? I see the wiring diagram, but it claims to be for the Kawa engine and I'm not sure that helps me line up RPMs to green/yellow/red...

Thanks!

Welcome to the Registry!.  I hope you take a few minutes to add your car to the Registry.  It is very easy to do.

Regarding your dash question.  Upgrading to an Aim Dash is a big improvement over the standard Radical dash.  The nice thing about the Aim dash is that it has data logging capabilities and can be linked to a SmartyCam to provide video with real time data overlays.  If you go that route Forum member Trailbrake is an Aim Dealer and should be able to help you out. I currently have a Prosport that I am getting back to track worthy condition and one of the previous owner replaced the Radical dash with Analog gauges that appear to be very easy to read.  When I get a chance I will look to see where the previous owner picked up the tach signal.  My car has a Kawasaki engine so it may not be the same as yours, but it will at least give you a data point.

A few questions about your car could help answer your dash question.  Do you know if your car always had a Hayabusa in it?  What ECU is your car using and is it the original ECU?

Here is a picture of the Analog gauges in my car for reference.

I went out and took a look at the dash connector for my Prosport and here is how it is wired.  Hope this helps.

Thanks Charley! The car had a Crago-built 'busa with carbs and the mbe 992i (attached) when I purchased it. Unfortunately it blew last spring, and I purchased a new lightly-used Gen1 motor which dropped right in. I transferred the polished head w/ dual intake cams from the Crago motor. I've since done a full rebuild and EFI conversion w/ the Suzuki ECU.

If you can recommend some inexpensive and compatible analog gauges, I'm all ears. Not in love with the stock dash, but also want to keep costs under control after this project. Thanks again.

Out of curiosity, why did you replace the MBE with the Suzuki ecu?  With the MBE I would think you could use the standard wiring harness to pick up the tach signal.  Although I just reread your original post and it sounds like you already have a tach signal to the dash.  I don't have any specific recommendations on analog gauges.  Sorry about that.

I have an unrelated question about your car.  Does your car have the Nik-link suspension in the rear, or a sway bar?  (see this post for pictures https://radicalsportscarregistry.com/radicalforum/prosport-specific-discussions/prosport-rear-nik-link-suspension-question/ ) Somewhere between RMS0137 and RMS0157 Radical changed the rear suspension.  Post up some pictures of your car when you have a chance.

The engine builder was more comfortable tuning the Suzuki ECU. I of course still have the old one. The car has a sway bar in back.
