Clubsport spec
Hi, I'm hoping to be collecting a 2002 Clubsport next week. It has a front splitter and rear diffuser, where these both standard?
More importantly it is advertised as a Kawasaki 1200, flat side carbs and dry sump, also a dynotech ecu.
Does this sound correct.
Forgive my ignorance.
Kind regards
Frank
Welcome @frank, and congratulations on your new car. From you description of the car, did you purchase chassis number 175? I just saw that one advertised this morning and added it to the Registry.
This car would have come with a Radical/Kawasaki ZZR 1100 engine. I would guess that one of two things explains this engine. The first possibility is that the current owner mistakenly called the engine a 1200 and it is actually an 1100. You will be able to tell which engine it is by looking at the serial number on the engine cases. The second possibility is that the engine was changed to a 1200. In 2004 Radical came out with the SR4 which was originally equipped with a Radical/Kawasaki 1200 and these cars were raced in the same class as the Clubsports with the 1100 engine. So it is reasonable that someone wanting to be competitive upgraded to the newer engine specification.
The Dynatek (Dyna2000) is the correct ECU that would have come with the car. The Flat slide carbs and dry sump were not standard but were options available for the car.
If you look through the Registry "Resource Library" you will find some great information that will help you learn about your Clubsport. I would recommend starting with the 2002 Clubsport / Prosport sales brochure as well as the 1997 Clubsport sales brochure. I would also recommend reading the Prosport Owners manual. The Prosport and Clubsport are nearly identical so most information applies to both. I haven't found a copy of a Clubsport owners manual.
I am looking forward to hearing more about the car when you get it. 🙂

Thanks for the info, I'll do some more research.
