Hi all, after a dodgy start tested the Clubsport at the weekend, found a few issues that i can sort, mainly brakes.

Apart rom the above the only other issue was not being able to see as well as I would like due to eye vibration! is this a common thing, is it a case of getting used to it or do I need to start looking at set up? It seems to handle very well so don't really want to soften it.

As an aside, I'm looking for some spare wheels, does anyone know the rim size for a clubsport, mine seem to measure 7.5 front, 8 rears, and of course the offset would be great.

I'm loving it!

Frank

@frank, It is good to hear that you got the Clubsport out on track !  The original Clubsport wheels were 6" x 13" on the front and 8" x 13" on the rear.  There was also an option for "light weight three piece wheels" that were 7" x 13" on the front and 8" x 13" on the rear.  The Prosports use  larger wheels that are 8" x 13" on the front and 10" x 13" on the rear.  Any of these wheels should work on your car.

Regarding the eye vibration, is it mechanical vibration or aero vibration?  The cars are tightly sprung, but it shouldn't be enough to affect your vision.  If it is a mechanical vibration I would start by checking the balance of your wheels.  I once had a wheel vibration that was very noticeable.  If that isn't it I would have your shocks tested.

@charleyhradicalsportscarregistry-com Thanks for the info, the wheels are Image 3 piece split rims so guess they must be 7" and 8" respectively.

I think the vibration is mechanical, its probably something as simple as the condition of the track, its a WW2 airfield. I haven't noticed it before in the various cars I have driven there but the Clubsport is a different kettle of fish!

I'm back out next week if I can sort the brakes, the front left locks up before the right, it had me off a few times before I worked it out. I might try sitting on some foam see if that reduces the vibration.

Cheers

Frank

@frank ... with the difference in front left/right locking, it will definitely be worth checking the car corner weights on a suitable flat patch if you haven't had that done recently.  Radical suggest no more than 10kg's difference in corner weights across the front, and then as a second priority, less than 2% of total weight difference between the diagonals.
