I finally have a diffuser for my Prosport. Having never run one, I have a logistical issue on how and where to place jack stands under the rear of the car. I have a stub that sticks out of the diffuser for jacking but where do you place the stands?

Neil,

I have an SR3 but I think they're pretty much the same.  That said here's where the stands should go in the rear. You want them as far rear as possible without pinching the area the diffuser needs to slide into.  You also want it outboard as far as possible while still being supported by the chassis.  (The outer pod is just fiberglass with no structural support DO NOT use that).  Look for rivets underneath which pretty much indicate where the floor pan is attached to the chassis.

Also note, you need to leave the front bodywork and tires on or the nose will be too light and car can tip backwards.  Some put 35-45lb weight plates in place of the tires.

@trakmnky Thanks, I was trying to avoid leaving the front body work on and weighting the front. Right now I have the front off and using two spare wheels and a winch to ballast the front end. I have been thinking about installing a winch in my ceiling to pickup just the rear end and using the jack stub to place a jack stand. I would use two spread apart stands in the front for stability.

Some of my racing buddies suggested making cup pickups on the chassis for stands and drilling holes in the diffuser to gain access, seems like a lot of work. I would have thought Radical would have this sorted by now especially since the SR3 suffers the same fate.

Neil,

MK Technologies which has an add and info on this site makes all the equipment you need for lifting the car if you wanted to go that route.  A recent post by a forum member talks about it.

https://radicalsportscarregistry.com/radicalforum/how-to-diy-discussions/radical-jacking-lifting/paged/2/#post-5602   No need to reinvent the wheel.

Really it's not that difficult to work with the car once you have a process in place.  I just roll the front on 2x4x1ft sections.  Lift the rear to get a 4x6 in the middle of the car where the chassis support is.  Then lift the front with the same race jack and put my jack stands in front.  Then lift the rear and install my rear jack stands.  The whole car is now off the ground and the rear diffuser can be pulled off and work done.

Hope that helps.
