Paddle shifting system
Hey guys,
I am planning to get a paddle shifting system together.
Not sure if i want to keep the lever in place and modify to accept airshifters, or completely swap it.
Consideretions ofc are cost, complexity and weight.
Please feel free to share your thoughts, experiances and knowledge.
Hi Christos (@kt-r13), The best add on systems are the Geartronics systems but they are a little pricey. There are other good systems also. You might want to contact Robert Burgess at Radical Canada East because he has put many different shifting systems in cars and knows the pluses and minuses of each system.
Regarding keeping the shifter... It is better to remove the shifter and mount the actuator on the engine. There is nothing wrong with keeping the shifter, but it does add more pieces to the system which adds complexity.

Hey Charley, thanks for the info.
Is rhe use of a gcu necesarry with these systems ? Is there any example of such a system, either geartronics or other systems ?
Also how much of a laptime advamtage you find this upgrade to be ?
@kt-r13, many of the systems come with their own GCU. I don't know how much of a lap time advantage there is and would think it would depend on how close you are to the edge of performance, but a good paddle shift system is a really nice upgrade and I highly recommend them.
